Using the service

These terms apply to the free ShopCutout website, its background-removal tool and its published guides. Use the service only where you are legally able to accept the terms that apply to your use. If you act for a business, you must be authorized to do so. If you do not agree, do not use the tool. Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

Free beta and current limits

The current beta offers background removal, background colors, canvas presets and downloads without payment or account registration. A batch supports up to 20 files and 100 MB in total. Each JPG, PNG or WebP can be up to 15 MB and 25 megapixels. Original-size output is capped at 4096 px on its longest side. These are application limits, not a promise that every device can process the largest permitted batch.

We may adjust free features, technical limits or availability as the service develops. The current free version does not create a subscription, require a payment card or charge for an export. Any future paid offering will need its own clearly presented price and applicable terms before a purchase.

Your images and intellectual property

Only process images you own or have permission to edit. You remain responsible for copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity and other rights affecting an image and its use. Editing someone else's product photograph does not grant permission to publish it.

We do not claim ownership of your source photographs or edited outputs. These terms do not transfer rights in a third party's material to you. You may use results for commercial work when the underlying image rights and your intended use permit it. The software, model, fonts and example assets have separate licenses; those licenses continue to apply to their respective materials.

Local processing and temporary workspaces

The free tool processes selected images locally in the browser. Save your originals and download any results you need. Closing or refreshing the page, clearing site data, or a browser crash can lose the active workspace. We do not provide cloud backup, recovery of unsaved work or a persistent image library. Review results before publishing

Background removal can cut away product details, retain unwanted objects or leave soft edges. Fine hair, transparent materials and reflections are difficult cases for the lightweight model. Resizing a small photograph does not recover detail missing from the source. A larger output file is not evidence of a higher-quality original.

Platform presets set canvas dimensions, subject placement and selected backgrounds. They do not verify every content, category or marketplace requirement. ShopCutout is independent of Amazon, Etsy and Shopify and does not guarantee listing approval, search ranking, sales, color accuracy or a particular editing result. You are responsible for checking outputs and current destination rules before using them.

Acceptable use and security

Do not use the service for unlawful or infringing content, deceptive product representations, or violations of another person's rights. Do not attack the hosting infrastructure, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorized access or deliberately disrupt availability. Routine repeated use of the free local tool is permitted; this does not grant a right to abuse the website or redistribute third-party software contrary to its license.

Availability, warranties and responsibility

The beta is provided on an as-available basis. Network access, browser support, model loading and local device resources can affect whether processing succeeds. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service, fitness for a particular purpose or perfect results. Nothing here excludes a warranty, duty or remedy that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Responsibility for losses depends on applicable law and the circumstances. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any mandatory consumer protection. Keep backups and review each exported image before relying on it for a commercial listing.

Guides may link to other websites. Their availability, policies and requirements can change, and those services apply their own terms. The revision date at the top identifies the current version of this page. Material changes to the service or these terms will be described here; review this page when your use changes or new features are introduced.
